The FireFly ESV is an all-electric light-weight commercial utility vehicle specifically developed to suit the criteria of essential services users.
Built with performance and adaptability in mind, the FireFly is street legal, highway-capable.

In addition, it has a longer range, a larger payload and can be tailored to practically any operation that has to be performed. We have devised purpose-built accessory choices for several applications, with specialised equipment such as factory authorised License Plate Recognition (ALPR) systems and unique emergency light packages available.

And FireFly’s modular bed may be built to match your needs, including an electric lift dump, first responder inserts, lockable storage and ladder racks, or a garbage collection bed. All of these choices and more are possible – your specifications are our only restriction!

The FireFly ESV can be relied upon to work all day diligently, doing the jobs workers need to complete, whether parking enforcement security, last-mile urban deliveries, property and grounds maintenance, first response or any other activity on or off-campus.

Progress, security, and ease

Mobility That Works

The FireFly ESV is a zero-emission, low-maintenance, high-performance, light-weight utility vehicle created to suit the requirements of the essential services industry.

DuraSteerTM front suspension, a welded tubular steel frame with integrated rollover protection, and an active stability control system contribute to the FireFly’s long-term durability.

With its narrow turning radius, walk-in/walk-out LinearGlydeTM doors, and full visibility for the driver, the FireFly ESV provides a practical and comfortable alternative for navigating small places. Any customer’s specific requirements can be accommodated by tailoring the system’s appearance and functionality.

Exceptional Control and Stability

The FireFly ESV’s aircraft-inspired DuraSteer front suspension with coil-over shocks, anti-dive control, vertical steering angle geometry and active stability control (ESC) system, including 3D accelerometer and suspension sensors, maximises stability and ride control, giving the driver the feel of a four-wheel vehicle.

The driver can easily handle the road because of the vehicle’s extended wheelbase, low centre of gravity, and patented load distribution system.

Interior Comfort and Ergonomics

The FireFly ESV cabin atmosphere has been meticulously built for the comfort and needs of today’s mobile workers. The ergonomic space use offers a roomy experience boasting best in class legroom, centre, left or right-hand drive, several seating configuration options, and adjustable, simple to clean heated fabric bucket seats.

The large 30″ DuraGlyde doors enable simple walk-in/out access. The dashboard “pod” concept is intuitively intended to see all gauges and quick access to the controls, knobs and switches needed to operate the FireFly and any installed accessories efficiently and safely.

KANSAS CITY, MO and GLENVIEW, IL, August 14, 2018 — One of the world’s largest manufacturers of consumer packaged products has chosen to use Orange EV T-Series all-electric terminal trucks in their yard management operations.

While helping customers achieve their sustainability goals, Firefly will lower costs and add new KPI reporting and tracking possibilities by providing emission-free yard management services in Michigan and California manufacturing and distribution sites.

Firefly offers leading-edge transportation services, offering customers with Orange EV’s 100 per cent battery-electric yard vehicles for spotting activities. According to Firefly, this is the first commercially available, all-electric Class 8 truck in Michigan for this consumer brand leader.

Mike Saxton, Orange EV’s Chief Commercial Officer: “Firms must do things differently to lower operating costs, improve operations, and reduce emissions at the same time.

“Firefly’s team of experienced logistics industry professionals has established a new paradigm for transportation services free from the burdens of conventional diesel technologies.

“From a warehouse and logistics standpoint, we’ve done those tasks, been in those roles, and understand the issues facing traditional diesel yard management where fleets are hard-pressed to find greater savings or productivity.

Legacy equipment and systems don’t meet the demands of today’s transportation environment,” stated Mike Bohnstengel, Principal Partner of Firefly Transportation Services.

This new technique from Firefly reduces fuel expenses by as much as 80% or more. Through onboard telematics, key performance indicators, and real-time monitoring and analysis, we help clients better understand and manage current yard operations, uncover efficiencies, and boost bottom-line productivity.”

Firefly leverages industry best practices to provide excellent yard management services while boosting operators and site staff safety. The 350VDC to 450VDC voltages utilised by other vehicle manufacturers are substantially higher and more dangerous than the 120VDC voltages used by orange EV trucks.

“Some find it hard to understand that an electric truck can do everything their old diesel does while also being a cooler, quieter, and cheaper cost to operate,” said Bohnstengel. Fleets are invited to try out emission-free yard management using the Orange EV vehicle.

About Firefly Transportation Services

Firefly Transportation Services is redefining the spotting service industry with cutting-edge technology. A safer and healthier working environment, improved fleet sustainability, and lower operating costs are all advantages of using Firefly’s electric yard trucks.

Firefly gives extensive analytics, KPI reporting, and in-depth business assessments for all spotting and shuttling services.
